Meet our management team

Dustin Benge

Provost

Dr Dustin Benge joins Union as provost and lecturer in church history after several years of pastoral and academic work in the United States. He received his PhD in biblical spirituality and church history from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, Kentucky, where he continues to serve as a Senior Fellow at The Andrew Fuller Center for Baptist Studies. He is also a visiting professor at Munster Bible College, Cork, Ireland. In addition, Dustin is the associate editor of Expositor Magazine, a publication ministry of OnePassion Ministries and the author of several books exploring themes of biblical spirituality and church history. His research interests include the American Puritans, Jonathan Edwards, spirituality, and ecclesiology. He and his wife, Molli, a primary school teacher, live in Porthcawl.

Joel Morris

Executive Director

Dr Joel Morris is Union’s Executive Director, overseeing the strategic and operational direction of the organisation. He is a leader and trustee of Grace Community Church, Porthcawl. He has been a missionary working in 28 countries with Operation Mobilisation before a doctorate and career in Materials Engineering which took him from Aerospace to the Nuclear sector. Prior to joining Union, he was Assistant Professor at the Seoul National University, in South Korea. He has extensive experience in bringing technology research to market, and in creating industrially sponsored University projects. He also started his own company specialising in aerospace technology, spun out of Swansea University. Joel is married to Hye Lim and they have three children. Joel and Hye Lim are Cooperative Missionaries of SaRang Church in Seoul.

Cornelis Bennema

Academic Dean and Senior Lecturer in New Testament

Cornelis (Cor) Bennema is the Academic Dean and Senior Lecturer in New Testament. Cor comes from the Netherlands where he worked as an IT professional before he moved to the UK for his theological studies. He then taught in India at SAIACS, a postgraduate theological seminary, for eleven years, and joined Union School of Theology in 2013.
