We’re delighted to announce a new Learning Community for South Holland. This new community will be led by Dr Kees van Kralingen, a highly experienced church elder, preacher and theologian. In partnership with local churches, the Learning Community will strengthen those already in ministry while also raising up church planters to grow the church across Holland.
The Dutch church has a rich and varied history, but recent decades have seen a steep decline in attendance and church growth. However, there are many young leaders who want to train for ministry, especially church planting, but are unable to access current training routes.
“There’s a spectrum of theological training opportunities ranging from denominationally linked universities and seminaries to non-affiliated training institutions,” says Kees, Lead Mentor for the new community. “However, the unique opportunity offered by a Union Learning Community is the combination of a solid reformed-evangelical emphasis combined with the possibility of part-time learning together with building up practical experience in a local church. I’m looking forward to seeing how the community will especially support new church plants as well as existing churches across Holland”.
This new community will be starting in September 2020 and applications to study on the GDip programme are now open. You can read our conversation with Kees van Kralingen here or find details about the community here.
