Study Biblical Greek and Hebrew with Union
Beginner to advanced learning options
Whatever your previous experience of studying a Biblical Language, we have a class for you! Take one level at a time, starting where you are and then progressing as far as you like, whether you're currently a beginner or ready to embark on the Advanced class:
Beginner (Levels 1 & 2): weekly
Intermediate (Levels 3 & 4): weekly
Advanced: 3 block weeks per year

In-person at our Ministry Centre, or via Zoom. Students must be able to join the classes at the scheduled times – recordings are not available.
GDip & MA classes are delivered on a weekly basis; MTh classes run in week-long blocks 3 times per year, and students must attend all 3 to complete the module.
Around 200 hours per course, consisting of approx. 60 hours of lectures for Beginner classes, and approx. 20 hours for Intermediate & Advanced classes, plus homework.
Students must complete the weekly homework and take the exams as part of their studies.

All students are given preparation information to complete a pre-test for the relevant level. We encourage you to attend our next Biblical Languages Open Evening to find out more about each level’s entry requirements.

Is it accredited?
Currently, individual languages modules taken outside of one of our validated programmes are non-accredited. If you are taking a Biblical Languages module within your MA, GDip or MTh studies with us, it will be validated as part of that programme.

The Short Course Pathway (highlighted in blue) shows the different levels available to students taking Biblical Languages as standalone, unaccredited short courses.
