A Learning Community for Frankfurt
We’re excited to announce a new Learning Community for Frankfurt, Germany. This new community will be led by Dr Kelly Seely and based at Nordstern Church.
Frankfurt is one of the leading financial, business and creative cities in Europe and its influence shapes much of German society. Looking back, the effects of the Reformation were short-lived in Frankfurt, although some years later the city did experience a significant revival. Now the city is firmly ‘post-Christian’, with the majority of people ignoring the church and its message.
The Center for Church Planting (City to City Europe) is working together with Nordstern to plant more churches that will reach those ho believe the gospel and the church is irrelevant. To see more churches planted and for the city to experience another revival, the church has identified the need to raise well rounded, gospel-hearted leaders who understand the challenges the church is facing and know how to respond wisely. Frankfurt lacks suitable training options and so the new Learning Community provides an accessible, robust way to equip existing leaders and raise up church planters.
Kelly who helped Stephan Pues plant Nordstern and leads a planting ministry said
“Previously, those wishing to enter church planting or pastoral ministry felt pressure to relocate away from the city to study theology. Union’s Graduate Diploma allows us to offer those in ministry or preparing for ministry in the city to remain in the city and in their churches or ministries. What really excites me about this program is that Union offers an accredited solid European theological degree that complements City to City Europe’s Incubator church planting and revitalization training program. It really is a best-of-both-worlds option.”
The Learning Community will be offering our GDip programme which provides leaders with a solid foundation for ministry and church planting. If you’re in Frankfurt or the surrounding area and want to grow in gospel ministry, please get in touch on admissionenquiries@ust.ac.uk
