Setting our eyes on Christ at the start of a new year
Our annual Union Gathering at the beginning of September this year was a real blessing - if you missed it, you missed out!
The preaching from Mike Reeves, Clive Bowsher, Dan Hames and Steffen Jenkins reminded us of our identity as gospel-hearted people rooted in Jesus, the one true vine who sustains us all and fuels everything we do in our various ministries and in our day-to-day lives.
Watch the dedication service message our Provost, Clive Bowsher, preached from Psalm 103 during the Gathering, entitled ‘Strong Love’:
BA flex student James Taylor said:
‘The Union Gathering was a fantastic way to start the BA flex programme. Aside from the opportunity to meet faculty and fellow students in person, it was an invaluable way to focus on the point of all theological education: to enjoy Christ and to serve him. I came to the Gathering having just returned - unexpectedly early - from a slightly chaotic few months on the mission field, and found that the teaching, worship, and fellowship was exactly what I needed on my reentry.’
Meanwhile, Erick Loh, a visiting pastor from Los Angeles, reflected:
‘Union Gathering 2022 was such a special time for me. Experiencing the warmth of devotion and sincerity of worship in the Union family was such a deep delight. Through the time, the Lord graciously provided the very encouragement he knew I needed while on sabbatical.’
After several years of restrictions and being unable to gather in person, it was a real delight to welcome new and returning students and Union family to our South Wales campus for a few days, to get to know each other better, share updates and prayer requests and grow in Christ together.
Please join us in praying for our students, Learning Community mentors and faculty as classes get underway both on campus and in our Learning Communities around the world, that their studies will not only equip them for their current and future ministry roles, but refresh and revive their hearts with love for Christ as they serve Him.
